I am an interdisciplinary anthropologist, specializing in the anthropology of religion, processes of religious and political change, and minority rights. My research focuses on Shiʿism in Pakistan. Currently, I am a doctoral candidate in the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford.

My dissertation, under the supervision of Dr. Justin Jones, focuses on practices of minority religion in public, urban spaces. Surveying the varied expressions of Shiʿism in the city of Karachi, my project touches on themes of ritual, material culture, sectarianism, state regulation, and identity politics.
